Since I began with Brian when I was 13 (which was 14 years ago!), I
have grown up with the STC family. As a birthday present from my family
when I was 16, I got to take an “old” STC horse we had at home to a
class A show. After I won the class, my mom said that in order to take
him to Regionals, I would need to work for it. Brian gave me the chance
to become a part of the team to help me out. Ever since then, I’ve been
attached to Brian’s hip. I was able to continue to work for STC
throughout the summers of my high school and college years. I cherish
the memories of those summers.
Because I have spent so much time at
the barn doing every job possible, I feel I really know how Brian works
with his horses at all levels. He has always been eager to teach the
“whys” and “hows” to achieve something new that would make me a better
horse handler and rider. I don’t think I have ever met a person, other
than my own father, who works as hard and or is as dedicated as Brian
is.
As I continued to grow up in the STC
family, I was lucky enough that Brian found the “perfect” horse for me
and my family. He knew once he saw Renegade that we would be a great
match and he was right. Because Renegade was just a junior horse when
we bought him, he needed more developing… but not as much as I did!
Brian made sure that I knew how to ride my horse; not just sit there and
pose. This training of me took a lot longer than the training of my
horse but Brian never gave up because he believed that we would
accomplish great things together. I am so thankful that he spent all of
that time with me. When I went to my first National show, I was ready.
For months prior to the show I trained multiple days a week on different
horses so that I could practice my skills and not screw up my horseJ.
I know when they called me as a Top Ten rider that it was because of all
of the work and trust Brian had put into us. It was one of the most
exciting moments of my life.
I look forward to continuing to
“grow” with the STC family. I know I am lucky to have such a great
coach and friend who has been such a big part of my life.

I have been a client of Brian's for over
ten years. I don't know anyone who works harder or has more
integrity than Brian. When I first started looking for a trainer,
I went to a horseshow and watched various trainers work with horses.
I was impressed with the way Brian always seemed to be working a horse
and I liked the way his horses looked. It was obvious once I took a
horse to STC that he worked just as hard when he was home at his own
barn. Deciding who will train your horse is a big decision; it's a
big investment both financially and emotionally.
There are so many things I appreciate
about the way Brian trains horses. He excels at evaluating a horse
and then working as a team with the owner so the horse can reach its
full potential. He is talented as well as self confident enough to
learn from others, but he has his own distinct style. I have sent
a number of horses to Brian ranging from horses that were destined to be
family pets to a National level performance horse. I t didn't
matter which of my horses were at STC; I knew they were all being worked
and taken care of.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of
STC. The friends I have made while at the barn or at shows are
very special to me. However the most important thing to me is that
Brian has added so much to the enjoyment of my horse ownership.
Along with being wonderful riding horses, every horse that Brian has
trained for me came home happier, more confident, and with much better
manners.
I look forward to more fun filled years with STC. |
